Buckingham Palace drops new bombshell as Prince Harry heads to UK

The royal family shares a new post with an important announcement

King Charles III’s office has made a major announcement ahead of the first anniversary of the monarch’s coronation as Prince Harry prepares to return to the UK.

Buckingham Palace has announced that King Charles, Queen Camilla and other royals will step down from patronage of almost 200 charities and organizations after a review of their association with more than 1,000 groups.

The royal family’s social media accounts shared the news on Saturday, just days before Harry’s possible reunion with his father as he returns to Britain to attend the Invictus Games event on May 8.

The statement reads: “Following Her Majesty’s accession in September 2022, a detailed review of patronages and presidencies has been carried out.”

The statement continued: “To mark the first anniversary of Their Majesties’ Coronation, the findings will be shared with relevant organizations next week.”

It adds: “The King, Queen and other members of the Royal Family lend their names and much of their time to many different charities and organisations. Currently, more than 1,000 organizations have a member of the Royal Family as patron or president “.

The post attracted massive reactions from royal fans and followers, with one writing in the comments section: “How wonderful, I always enjoy when history is incorporated into the present. Congratulations to Your Majesties on the first anniversary of your coronation and to the 1000+ organizations that have a member of the Royal Family as patron or president!”

The late Queen was patron of 492 organisations, while Charles was affiliated with 441 and Camilla 100. According to the assessment, just over 830 have been retained by the King and Queen, or passed on to other members of the royal family.

Among those who will retain their royal connection are the Royal British Legion, the armed forces’ largest charity, the Dogs Trust, the Jockey Club and the Wildlife Trusts, a grassroots naturalist organisation.
