Buckingham Palace makes big announcement ahead of Prince Harry’s return to the UK

King Charles, Queen Camilla and other members of the Royal Family lend their names and much of their time to many different charities and organisations.

Currently, more than 1,000 organizations have a member of the Royal Family as patron or president.

These range from well-known charities such as the British Red Cross, to new, smaller or local charities, and Armed Forces regiments.

Now, the palace has announced: “Following the accession of His Majesty the King in September 2022, a major review of more than 1,000 royal patronages and charitable presidencies has been carried out.

“To mark the first anniversary of Their Majesties’ Coronation, the findings will be shared with relevant organizations next week.”

According to the ReutersKing Charles and other senior British royals will give up patronage of almost 200 charities and organizations after a review of their association with more than 1,000 groups.

The review was launched following the death of Queen Elizabeth II to examine all the charities and bodies with which she, Charles and his wife Queen Camilla were connected, whether as president or patron.

Isabel was patron of 492 organizations, while Carlos was affiliated with 441 and Camilla with 100.

The palace made the important announcement as Prince Harry is set to visit the UK next week.
