Ethiopia is determined to improve working conditions

Minister of Labor and Skills of Ethiopia, Muferihat Kamilhas expressed the country’s commitment to continue improving working conditions, guaranteeing job security and protecting workers’ rights.

The 49th anniversary of International Labor Day was celebrated in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, with the participation of the Minister of Labor, unions and other government representatives.

Muferihat stressed that efforts will continue to protect the rights and interests of workers and ensure their safety. New systems developed through research are being introduced to meet the needs of workers.

The Minister also announced reforms to better protect workers’ rights and expressed the importance of ensuring workers are appropriately qualified at all levels. This is reported by

President of the Confederation of Ethiopian Trade Unions, Kasahun Follo, expressed his appreciation for the joint efforts with the government to protect the rights and interests of workers and also highlighted the importance of increasing industrial productivity.
