A man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the fatal stabbing in White Rock last week.

In an update on Friday, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team explained that Dimitri Nelson Hyacinth has now also been charged with the stabbing death of Kulwinder Singh Sohi.

Sohi was found suffering from fatal stab wounds last Tuesday along the White Rock Promenade.

Earlier this week, Hyacinth was also arrested and charged with aggravated assault in connection with the first non-fatal stabbing that occurred in the same area, just two days earlier.

Twenty-eight-year-old Jatinder Singh was sitting along the boardwalk with his wife when a suspect allegedly approached and stabbed him in the back of the head, causing serious injuries.

The two violent incidents that occurred in roughly as many days caused the community to express concern about safety along the White Rock boardwalk.
